Biography

Jenna Forster works to protect public entities and combat consumer fraud through complex litigation.

Jenna’s casework includes representing states and municipalities in litigation against the entire opioid supply chain alleging deceptive marketing and overdistribution, as well as cases involving the alleged overinflation of prescription drug prices. She also litigates consumer protection and public nuisance claims against social media companies alleging their platforms’ dangerous and addictive designs harm youth safety and wellbeing.

Jenna gained valuable experience in complex mass tort litigations as an associate in the San Francisco office of a multi-national plaintiffs’ firm. There, she represented governmental entities and personal injury clients in nationwide litigation against JUUL Labs and Altria, alleging that they misled the public about the safety of their products and engaged in predatory marketing of e-cigarettes to children. Jenna was also a member of the team that represented the San Francisco Unified School District in the first MDL bellwether trial, which resulted in a global settlement with Altria that resolved nearly 10,000 cases and recovered $235 million.*

Jenna also served as a law clerk for Judge Jon S. Tigar on the U. S. District Court, Northern District of California.

While completing her legal studies, Jenna was the executive editor of the California Law Review and the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice, as well as a founding board member of the Berkeley Plaintiffs’ Law Association. She was a judicial extern for the Supreme Court of California, working under the Hon. Goodwin H. Liu. She also interned for the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, working with the Complex & Affirmative Litigation team. Upon graduation she was awarded Pro Bono Honors, received the Anthony F. Dragonette Award for Civil Trial Practice, and was admitted into the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers.

Jenna is also actively involved in trial advocacy education. She is a lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she teaches a course on trial advocacy skills and co-directs the external trial competitions program.
