Biography

Ms. McLaughlin has dedicated her legal career to defending corporate clients in the toxic tort field. She has also served as Assistant National Coordinating Counsel to a major corporation in the asbestos litigation for a number of years. Ms. McLaughlin’s current practice includes insurance defense, products liability, and toxic tort litigation. She has successfully argued pre-trial motions at both the state and federal court level for various clients. In addition, having served a two-year federal clerkship with the United States Department of Labor’s Office of Administrative Law Judges, she has direct experience with the Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act, the Defense Base Act, and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Ms. McLaughlin is licensed to practice law before all state and federal courts in Louisiana and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Ms. McLaughlin graduated from Louisiana State University in 2005 (B.A., History) and received her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in 2008, where she graduated in the top 3% of her class. During law school, Ms. McLaughlin served on the Editorial Board for the Southern University Law Review.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family. She is also on the board for the Louisiana Hunter Jumper Association and competes in equestrian show jumping throughout the southeast region.
