Jesse W. Schiel

Jesse Schiel concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, real property, land use, intellectual property, creditor debtor rights, bankruptcy, banking and finance law, commercial litigation, collection, and general real estate representation, and has experience representing clients in appellate proceedings in both the State and Federal appellate courts.
During his legal career, Mr. Schiel has litigated, arbitrated and mediated numerous high profile cases involving complex commercial and real estate transactions, major commercial disputes, land use, and corporate disputes. He has tried cases in both the State and Federal District Courts of Hawaii.

Education

Mr. Schiel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications in 1994 from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Schiel received his Juris Doctorate degree and graduated cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing Award for the 'Best Environmental Law Paper' from his graduating class while also graduating with honors for the 'Best Brief in Class' in Legal Writing. In February of 2003, Mr. Schiel was the recipient of the 2003 Environmental Law Program's Pohaku Fund Travel Scholarship for the 33rd Annual ALl-ABA Environmental Conference in Washington D.C. Additionally, Mr. Schiel was awarded the CALl Excellence for the Future in Real Property II.
