Jessica A. Koper

Jessica is a Partner in the Windsor office of the firm, and a member of our Civil Litigation, Education & Public Law, and Employment & Labour Law practice groups. Jessica articled with the firm in 2013-2014, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014.Jessica obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor, where she was a recipient of the Social Justice Fellowship Award. During her time at Windsor Law, Jessica was actively involved as a litigator with Community Legal Aid and a regular volunteer at Windsor's Downtown Mission. She was also president of the Windsor Law Tennis Club, and captain of a Windsor Law soccer team. In her third year at Windsor Law, Jessica was selected to represent the law school as a member of its competitive mooting team in the Canadian Corporate Securities Moot. At the request of the law school, Jessica continues to serve as coach of the school's mooting team at the annual Moot competition.Following her first year at Windsor Law, and using the proceeds of the Social Justice Fellowship Award, Jessica secured a placement as a legal intern with the Bureau of Research at the Parliament of the Republic of Poland and its Committee for European Affairs, based in the nation's capital, Warsaw.Prior to attending law school, Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Double Honours) in Criminology, and Law & Society from York University. Jessica subsequently completed a post-graduate certificate in Fraud Investigations and Forensic Accounting from Seneca College, and was then employed as a fraud investigator in corporate services for one of Canada's leading investigation firms, CKR Global (formerly King-Reed & Associates), in Toronto. Jessica assisted in large investigations, primarily in corporate due diligence, criminal defence cases, insurance fraud, mortgage fraud, subrogation, asset tracing, trademarks, and missing persons cases.Fluent in three languages, Jessica can communicate in French, Polish, and English.
