Jessica A. Stokes

Jessica Stokes was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina. She attended Presbyterian College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Alpha Academic Honor Society, a Witherspoon Scholar, and was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award. After graduating summa cum laude from Presbyterian College, Jessica attended the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Following law school, Jessica went into private practice, eventually relocating from Columbia to Myrtle Beach to work for McNair Law Firm where she practiced in general civil defense litigation and labor and employment law. She later decided to start her own practice, The Stokes Law Firm, switching her focus to representing plaintiffs in areas ranging from employment law to personal injury. After taking some time away from the practice of law to start her family, Jessica returned to the practice of law, with a focus on representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters. Prior to joining The Derrick Law Firm, Jessica worked remotely for The Tollison Law Firm, located in Greenville, South Carolina.

Jessica served on the Board of Miss Ruby’s Kids Non-Profit Association as the Governance Chair, is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, and is admitted in the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. She is a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, Junior League of the Grand Strand, and Carolina Coast Cotillion. Jessica currently resides with her three children in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and enjoys reading, being on the water, and spending time outside with her children.
