Jessica S. Swenson

Jessica Swenson concentrates her practice on family and matrimonial law, guiding clients through divorce litigation as well as mediation and arbitration. She handles a wide range of matters involving custody and parenting time, alimony and child support, separation and property settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, and domestic violence proceedings. With roughly sixteen years of legal experience, Jessica brings extensive time in family court and a practical understanding of what it takes to move cases forward efficiently. She is a trained mediator and a New Jersey Judiciary–approved parenting coordinator. Before joining Gebhardt & Kiefer, P.C. as a Partner in 2024, Jessica served as a Partner and Chair of the Family Law Department at an Essex County law firm. Jessica earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Michael K. Diamond and the Honorable George E. Sabbath in the Superior Court of New Jersey. She completed mediation training through the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, is designated to mediate matters in the Domestic Violence Pilot Program, completed Basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Family Law Training, and is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar.
