Biography

Jessy Tallant advocates for victims who suffered health problems, or sadly lost their lives due to dangerous medical drugs and devices. She also works with victims of child sex abuse and human trafficking.

Jessy’s advocacy focuses on representing individuals harmed by pharmaceutical drugs, medical implants, and products used in surgical procedures. She is also part of the team representing families whose infants suffered serious health complications after consuming recalled baby formula. In addition, Jessy assists in the representation of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer following the use of talc-based feminine hygiene products. Her work further extends to protecting the rights of children and adults who experienced sexual abuse within the hospitality industry, institutional settings, and religious organizations.

Jessy serves on the Board of Directors for Charleston Legal Access, an organization dedicated to expanding access to legal services throughout South Carolina. She is a former law clerk at Motley Rice and, while in law school, served as the Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the Wake Forest Journal of Law & Policy and actively competed in moot court. A four-time recipient of the Dean Reynolds Award for earning the highest grade in a law school class, Jessy also served clients as a student practitioner in the Wake Forest University Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic. Prior to law school, she studied public health at the University of Georgia, where she interned at the CDC and led one of the university’s largest student-run nonprofit organizations.
