Biography

Wan Jia focuses her practice on insurance disputes, complex commercial litigation and arbitration.

Ms. Wan has successfully represented clients in a variety of contexts and industries, including insurance claims disputes, insurers’ subrogation disputes, project construction disputes, cross-border transactions disputes, complex breach of contract disputes, intellectual property disputes, etc.

Besides representing clients in domestic litigation matters before PRC courts, Ms. Wan has handled international arbitration matters under the major international arbitration rules (CIETAC, BAC, ICC, HKIAC, SIAC) in a number of jurisdictions around the world, including Singapore, United States, Hong Kong and Mainland China. She has gained vast experience in providing clients with strategic and case management advice for parallel proceedings involving multiple jurisdictions.

• Represented China Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd. against Taizhou Sanfu Marine Engineering Co., LTD in a ship construction insurance contract dispute before Shanghai High People's Court.

• Represented China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd. Wuhu Center Branch against Wuhu Changxin Technology Ltd. in a property insurance fire accident compensation dispute before Anhui High People’s Court.

• Represented Sichuan Trust Co., Ltd. against Hubei Bank Co., Ltd. in a trust loan contract dispute before Hubei High People's Court.

• Represented China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd. Guangdong Branch and Guangzhou Branch against People's Property & Casualty Insurance Company (Group) of China Guangdong Branch in a reinsurance contract dispute before Guangzhou Intermediate People’s Court.
