Jillian A. Wickman

Jillian A. Wickman is a managing attorney in the Estate Administration Department where she focuses her practice in probate estates, estate tax preparation, and funding inter-vivos and irrevocable trusts.

Jillian works with clients after the passing of a loved one to assist them in fulfilling their fiduciary obligations and achieving the objectives established by the estate plan. Jillian has experience with the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code and preparing probate petitions and accounts, as well as handling ancillary estate administration. Additionally, Jillian manages the collection and valuation of assets for capital gain and estate tax purposes and analyzes the consequences of estate, income, and gift taxes. Jillian also represents individuals in obtaining guardianships and conservatorships in order to assist and protect their loved ones.

Jillian has achieved numerous successful results for clients, including the following:

• Successfully represented a personal representative in connection with a breach of fiduciary duty claim against a Power of Attorney

• Successfully represented multiple conservators in obtaining the power to create an estate plan and do Medicaid planning for elderly incapacitated individuals

• Successfully represented a guardian in obtaining the ability to consent to chemotherapy treatment, complete DNR/DNI orders, and to admit the elder individual to a skilled nursing facility

• Successfully represented a guardian before the district court to obtain a restraining order on behalf of the incapacitated individual

Jillian also has experience in estate planning, elder law, Medicaid applications, probate litigation, and residential real estate transactions.
