Jodde Olsen Lanning

Jodde Lanning is a Principal in the firm, having practiced with the firm since 1980 emphasizing various aspects of business associations, corporations, real estate, estate planning and probate law.

Jodde’s areas of expertise include banking law, corporate law, general business law, partnerships, probate, real estate, tax, and wills and estate planning. Jodde advises clients in a variety of business transactions including representation of numerous privately held corporations, sophisticated tax and corporate consultation, and various aspects of personal business and personal succession planning.

Jodde received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, and received her Juris Doctorate degree from KU in 1980, having been elected to The Order of the Coif, and serving as a member of the University of Kansas Law Review for two years and Managing Editor in her final year.

Jodde has been with Payne & Jones, Chartered continuously since graduation from law school in 1980. Jodde’s experience in various aspects of tax law has been recognized by the University of Kansas where she has served as Adjunct Professor teaching classes in Federal Estate and Gift Taxation and Estate Planning. She has previously served as a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Kansas School of Law and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Tax Section of the Kansas Bar Association. Jodde is one of the several principals at Payne & Jones, Chartered who have received the prestigious “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Jodde is admitted to practice in Kansas as well as the United States Tax Court. She is a member of the Johnson County, Kansas and American Bar Associations.
