Joe Awad

Joe Awad is a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate Practice. Joe represents private equity firms and their portfolio companies in mergers, acquisitions, corporate governance, and commercial transactions. He handles legal matters across technology, industrial, and retail sectors. Joe previously served as vice president, counsel, and secretary at The Gores Group and its portfolio companies, where he managed numerous acquisition and sale transactions, debt financings, general corporate matters for the private equity firm and its portfolio companies and coordinated legal strategies with executive leadership teams. Joe also managed various litigation matters for the private equity firm and its portfolio companies, including SPAC-related class actions suits.

Joe structures and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, equity arrangements, and other commercial agreements for private equity and corporate clients. Joe is well-versed in complex corporate transactions, including cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance. Joe also has broad experience in handling operational and commercial matters for portfolio companies in various industries, including industrial and technology sectors.
