Joel Weissler, the founding attorney of Weissler Law Group, embarked
on a mission to impact the lives of clients by offering the highest
caliber of legal representation in areas critical to their well-being
and that of their families. His passion for estate planning, asset
protection, and elder law stems from a deep-seated awareness of the
vulnerability that families face when adversity strikes.
Within
his own extended family, he witnessed the havoc wreaked by poorly
drafted wills and trusts, the family strife that can arise when
medical decisions are not prearranged, the financial strain of
in-home and long-term residential care, and the heart-wrenching sense
of loss as loved ones succumb to Alzheimer's. Attorney Weissler was
also drawn to asset protection for hardworking business owners too
many of whom have encountered bumps in the road which have left them
destitute and unable to continue or start anew. He understands the
importance of safeguarding a business owner's core assets and the
capacity to shift directions or rebuild, to protect themselves and
their families from financial hardship.
A dedicated
father of three, Joel is committed to shielding families from the
unexpected and life's inevitable transitions. He firmly believes that
no one should be compelled to forfeit a lifetime of labor to forces
beyond their control, economic fluctuations, or the expenses
associated with aging.
With over 25 years of legal
practice, Attorney Joel Weissler holds the distinction of being a
California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization Certified Tax Law
Specialist. His unwavering commitment to excellence led him to
complete his three-year law degree in just two years and secure
admission to the California Bar. Subsequently, he earned an LLM in
Taxation, Cum Laude, from the University of San Diego. Beyond
practicing in all California Courts, he is also admitted to practice
before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for the Southern
District of California, and the Federal Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals.
Joel's dedication to legal scholarship and
contributing to the field is evident through his work as a both a
contributing and update author for the University of California CEB
Press’s multivolume California Estate Planning practice
book. As an author he also contributed to California CEB Press’s
Guide to Business Succession Planning, where he authored two
chapters focusing on the use of select estate planning tools to
minimize tax implications when transferring a business to family
members, key employees, or external parties. Notably, Attorney
Weissler authored a full-length book, "The California Guide to
Growing Old Without Going Broke," which achieved Amazon Best
Seller Status in both print and e-book formats.
