Biography

Background & Experience

For his entire legal career, John A. Roberts has represented the interests of those harmed by the wrongful acts of others. Whether physically injured or financially injured or both, John has devoted himself to helping those in need of help at some of the most difficult times in their lives.

John primarily handles cases involving the following legal matters:

- serious personal injury

- wrongful death, products liability

- premises liability, insurance bad faith

- employment law

- elder abuse

- nursing home neglect

- medical malpractice.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from UCLA, John worked as a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District and as a police dispatcher with the UCLA Police Department before obtaining his law degree at Pepperdine University in 1996. At the end of his second year of law school, he started clerking for the well-known plaintiffs' law firm, Girardi & Keese where he formed his passion for representing the interests of the Davids of the world against the Goliath corporations and insurance companies within the legal system.

After passing the bar and becoming licensed in California, John became a member of Girardi & Keese where he developed his skills as a litigator and trial lawyer. In July 2015, John joined the trial law firm Biren Law Group where all the lawyers share the same desire to fight as hard as possible for their clients and achieve the best results.

John has been involved in over 20 trials and binding arbitrations and for 20 years has zealously pursued corporations, businesses, insurance companies, and individuals who have wronged or injured others. John has been selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ and is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles and the Consumer Attorneys of California.

Recent Case Results:

John A. Roberts settled a case for almost half a million for a man whose arm was severely mangled as a result of dangerous meat mixing machine, as the man's employer was arguably the primary cause of the accident.

Matthew B.F. Biren, Andrew A.O. Biren and John A. Roberts obtained a policy limits $2 million settlement for the family of a man who sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle accident after his car collided with an illegally parked tanker truck in the middle of the night, even though the police report put fault squarely on the decedent.
