Originally from Abingdon, Virginia, John has considered Tennessee home since his college years, carrying with him the Appalachian values of integrity, respect, and care for others that guide his approach to the practice of law.

John graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2011 and earned his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2016. After law school, John practiced in Memphis, Tennessee for three years before returning to Knoxville to continue his work in family law.

Before joining BFP Law Firm in November 2025, John worked for a prominent family law firm for six years, where he gained extensive experience with complex, emotionally sensitive family law matters. His time there strengthened his ability to provide clear, steady guidance while advocating effectively for his clients across eastern Tennessee.

John prides himself on empathizing with those he represents and helping them navigate difficult moments with confidence. His practice focuses on achieving practical and efficient outcomes, always with an emphasis on minimizing conflict.
