Biography

John C. Merlino is a zealous legal voice for injured construction workers. A senior managing member of the firm, Mr. Merlino was born and raised in Brooklyn, to immigrant parents. Mr. Merlino learned the importance of educating our clients of their rights and being a strong-compassionate advocate. Mr. Merlino, along with his mentor William Schwitzer, are among the most respected Construction Site Accident litigators in the State of New York.

Mr. Merlino is an accomplished attorney representing injured workers with their Workers’ Compensation claims and 3rd Party Actions, he truly understands the concerns and needs our clients.

Not only is Mr. Merlino an advocate in the Court room, he a strong voice for Various Building Trades, organizing many rallies against non-union development and un-safe jobsites. Mr. Merlino believes that this great City must continue to support Union members who have safely and skillfully built this great City. “Union construction workers are not only the most qualified workers in the State of New York…., Union members protect their trade, support fair wages and support job safety for their Sisters & Brothers.” Mr. Merlino has conducted countless educational seminars for various Building Trade Unions regarding construction site safety and “knowing your rights” if injured on the job.

The pre-accident educational seminars have benefitted many injured workers in properly reporting their accident, in obtaining proper medical treatment and instituting Workers’ Compensation benefits quicker. Mr. Merlino is an active member of the New York Coalition for Occupational Safety & Health (NYCOSH). Mr. Merlino has been recognized by WILG as one of the Nation’s Top Injured Workers’ Attorneys, and he has published many articles on LaborPress.org addressing legal questions for workers who are injured on the job
