John Cunill brings a wealth of leadership experience and legal skills
to his legal practice, marked by a public service background that
includes service in the U.S. Army Reserves. His educational journey
led him to acquire a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from
Florida International University, followed by a Juris Doctorate
Degree from St. Thomas University School of Law.
During
his tenure at law school, John's commitment to the legal field was
evident as he immersed himself in valuable experiences working for
the Federal Government and Florida State Government. His role as a
certified legal intern at the Department of Homeland Security,
I.C.E., provided him with the invaluable experience of working on
various immigration cases. Later in his career, John worked as a
certified legal intern at the Miami Dade County State Attorney’s
office where he represented the State of Florida in prosecuting cases
involving DUI, drug possession, and theft. John worked as an
Assistant Town Attorney for Bay Harbor Islands, FL and currently
serves as a legal advisor to the City of Sweetwater in Mimi-Dade
County.
John's
legal practice focuses on Corporate Law, Business Litigation,
Contract Negotiations and Contract Disputes. John also offers
Business Consulting services for client’s desiring to open a
business or purchase an existing business. Complementing his
professional endeavors, he actively contributes to the community,
volunteering his time at various events within the City of Miami and
Miami-Dade County. Moreover, his commitment to public service is
highlighted through his previous position as a Board Member for the
City of Miami’s Homeland Defense/Neighborhood Improvement Bond
Oversight Board. Additionally, he is a dedicated member of the
American Bar Association Military Pro Bono Project, further
showcasing his commitment to serving others within the legal
profession.
John
has been a Guest speaker at the Ethical Governance Day 2022, and
Ethical Governance Day 2023, hosted by The Miami-Dade County
Commission on Ethics and Public Trust. John has also been a mentor
and guest speaker at Florida International University.
