I have practiced in the area of Workers' Compensation for 17 years. After law school, I was hired by an insurance defense firm specializing in workers' compensation and spent the first two years of my career with them. While the firm was wonderful and the experience was invaluable, my heart just wasn't in it. I was fortunate to have united with my current partner, Joseph Mayen, in January of 2003 and began representing injured workers. I have absolutely loved the practice from the start. It gives me an opportunity to make a positive difference in many people's lives. In this position, I am able to help people to keep their jobs or return to work if possible and I am able to help them maximize their disability recovery when they are not able to return to work. I assist my clients with obtaining necessary benefits and medical treatment throughout their case in an industry where the law generally does not favor injured workers. The area of Workers' Compensation has become highly complex and difficult for injured workers to receive just benefits and treatment. I do not believe this to be a system where an injured worker should go it alone. Fees are capped at 15% which is a bargain considering all an attorney can do for you.
