Biography

John Pentecost is currently a shareholder and managing partner of Hart King. He has been with Hart King since 1988. He is the group leader of the firm’s manufactured housing practice. He has had substantial amount of trials in Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, including numerous commercial, RV park and mobilehome park evictions. John has over thirty years of experience in defending class actions ranging from lease dispute issues to state and federal fair housing issues including discrimination, failure to maintain actions, and American with Disability Act (ADA) matters. He assists his clients in subdivision conversions and park closures, ground lease negotiations and litigation. John is experienced in homeowners’ association law (HOA's) and assisting real estate brokers relative to commission and liability issues.

Assisted clients in defending against discrimination actions brought by Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH)

Assisted community owners with enforcing closures of manufactured housing communities and negotiating relocation benefits (Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties)

Assisted business clients in drafting appropriate employment policy manuals, documents, employment agreements, etc., to fit their special needs

Assisted business clients in drafting contracts, agreements and leases for use with their various property holdings

Defended mobilehome parks in high volume failure to maintain lawsuits.

Assisted clients in defending ADA actions made against a wide range of businesses in California for RV parks, manufactured housing communities, office buildings and retail establishments
