Biography

John J. Ryan, Jr. is Special Counsel with Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP in its Elmira Office. Prior to joining Hinman, Howard & Kattell, John began his legal career in 1977 as an associate with the Elmira firm of Buck, Gleckner, Danaher & Harpending becoming a full partner in 1983. John brings with him over forty-six years of experience in the legal areas of civil defense litigation, municipal law, wills/probate, estate matters, residential and commercial real estate transactions (for buyers and sellers), and corporation/LLC matters.

John has been active in the Elmira community. He served on the former Elmira Neighborhood Board of Directors, was President of the Elmira Chapter of the American Red Cross, Treasurer of Glove House, Inc., and presently is on the Board of Directors of St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Commission.
