Biography

John J. Skawski focuses his practice on civil litigation with specialties in transportation and construction. He also enjoys a commercial litigation practice representing businesses in contract and tort disputes. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, including General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler Motor Company, General Mills, McDonald’s Corporation, Motorola, and others in a variety of civil and commercial matters. John is regularly called upon to defend businesses and individuals in complex catastrophic personal injury cases when stakes and damages are high. His successful results obtained through dispositive motions and trials are consistently upheld by appellate courts.

John has been a featured speaker at national insurance seminars and is sought out to provide training for claim representatives dealing with transportation claims. He is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and is a Chair Qualified Arbitrator in both Cook and DuPage Counties.

John and his wife, Sandi, have three sons and reside in a western suburb of Chicago..
