John K Schlichting, Esq.

John K. Schlichting joined Schulz Brick & Rogaski in 2023 as Senior Counsel. Since 2015, he has been annually named a “Top Lawyer” by San Diego Magazine in the area of business litigation. He holds a preeminent peer rating (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Schlichting graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, and received his Juris Doctor in 1993. Mr. Schlichting was admitted to the Bar in the State of California in 1993 and is currently admitted to practice in United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of California. Mr. Schlichting was also admitted to the Bar of the State of Arizona in 1994.

With 30 years of experience, John K. Schlichting has focused on transactional and litigation matters with particular specialties in business transactions, business litigation, real estate litigation, construction law/ construction defect litigation (representing a national homebuilder for over 23 years and multiple general contractors), insurance coverage, insurance litigation/ bad faith, professional negligence (architects and engineers), and tort liability defense (personal injury, premises liability, and product liability). Mr. Schlichting represents clients throughout California and Arizona.

Mr. Schlichting has also acted as a speaker at multiple local, regional and national conferences within his area of legal expertise. He has presented private seminars for companies, trade groups, and insurers within his area of legal expertise.
