Biography

John Kemppainen has 30 years of courtroom experience. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected as a Missouri Super Lawyer. He defends cases across the states of Missouri and Illinois and has been named one of the Top Lawyers in Missouri by the St. Louis Post Dispatch. John regularly handles cases in St. Louis and Madison, and St. Clair counties in Illinois. He has also argued before the state and federal appellate courts in the area.

John defends personal injury, products liability, wrongful death, and class action cases. His clients include insurance carriers, retailers, restaurants, airports, manufacturers, trucking companies, self-insured companies, corporations, school districts, government agencies, municipalities, and individuals in all civil matters. He also serves as National Coordinating Counsel (NCC) for a manufacturer in ongoing national toxic tort litigation.

John serves as President of the National Retail & Restaurant Defense Association (NRRDA) and as Advisor to the NRRDA DE&I Committee. He is a member of the Council on Litigation Management. He serves on the Transportation Law Committee of the Missouri Bar and the Ethics & Professionalism Committee for the Defense Research Institute. John has been named to America’s Top 100 Civil Defense Litigators.
