Biography

John M. “Mac” Blanchard is an associate in the firm’s transactional department. His areas of

practice include real estate transactions and financing, commercial leasing, land use and

development, and business law.

Mac obtained his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, William S.

Richardson School of Law. While attending law school, Mac obtained a certificate in

Environmental Law, and he served as Managing Editor for the University of Hawai‘i Law

Review and received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Contract Drafting and Legal

Research. Mac also served as president of both the law school’s Environmental Law Society

and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.

Prior to joining the firm, Mac practiced at another Honolulu firm representing lenders in

commercial financing as well as other real estate and development matters.

Before obtaining his law degree, Mac worked in business development and legal marketing

for an international law firm.
