Biography

John Weiland is a fast-thinking trial attorney who focuses his practice on criminal and traffic defense. John has successfully represented thousands of reckless driving, DUI / DWI, underage possession of alcohol, and possession of marijuana clients. Before defending those accused of crimes and traffic violations, John litigated complex civil cases in Virginia and Federal courts. This research and writing-intensive background has provided John a unique analytical skill set for applying new, creative and successful legal arguments to otherwise extremely difficult criminal and traffic cases. While in law school, John was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Joseph J. Ellis in the Circuit Courts of Spotsylvania, Caroline and Westmoreland Counties, Virginia. Prior to becoming a lawyer, John served as a Green Beret with the U.S. Army Special Forces. He maintains an ongoing promise to each of his clients to always fight to achieve the best possible outcome. He has been published by The Journal of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association regarding DUI / DWI defense. John has the necessary trial experience and fortitude to provide aggressive representation tailored to each specific client’s needs.

John defends individuals charged with any criminal offense or traffic infraction including: speeding, failure to obey a highway sign, reckless driving, DUI / DWI, hit and run, eluding a police officer, driving on a suspended license, underage possession of alcohol and possession of marijuana.
