Biography

John Morris, resident in the firm’s New York office, is a senior litigation partner representing debtors and creditors’ committees in high stakes adversary proceedings, contested motions, and lawsuits. John has served as the lead litigator in the firm’s long-running representation of Highland Capital Management during the bankruptcy and postconfirmation, including dozens of contested matters, trials, and appeals to the district court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. John has also served as lead litigation counsel on behalf of numerous creditors’ committees including, most recently, Hornblower, AmeriFirst Financial, and Tuesday Morning: he also represents interested parties in litigation and chapter 15 cases emanating from off-shore jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands. John graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor of science degree and from Rutgers University School of Law where he served as articles editor of the Law Review.
