Biography

John Gettys, one of the founders of Morton & Gettys, is a preferred closing attorney for some of Rock Hill’s most well-known builders and developers. He handles a variety of residential real estate closings from purchases to refinances and home equity lines of credit.

John focuses on a wide range of practice areas including, real estate, probate administration, probate litigation and personal injury. He is also a certified South Carolina Circuit Court Mediator.

He is an experienced probate litigator who regularly assists clients pursuing guardianships and conservatorships for children, aging adults and those with special needs in contested and uncontested matters. He is also experienced in handling will disputes and the interpretation of trusts.

John is currently the chairman of the Rock Hill Sports Commission, serves on the boards of both the Early Learning Partnership and the Jeffrey Williams Foundation and is a member of the advisory board of South State Bank.
