Biography

John Berg is a seasoned trial attorney with extensive experience in both jury and bench trials, as well as arbitrations. He has represented clients in Illinois state courts and in federal courts across the country, from Iowa to New Jersey and Wisconsin to Florida. Focusing on civil cases involving catastrophic injury or death, John has secured multiple million-dollar judgments. His vast trial experience is invaluable whether resolving disputes in or out of the courtroom.

One notable case showcasing John's skills is the Ford Heights Litigation. He represented Paula Gray, who was wrongfully convicted of murder and served ten years in prison. John successfully argued her post-conviction case, leading to her exoneration and securing a pardon for actual innocence. He also helped Paula recover over $4 million for her wrongful incarceration.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Northwestern University and earned his Juris Doctor from Hastings College of the Law at the University of California. Early in his career, he worked alongside renowned trial attorney Thomas Decker and later served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County, where he prosecuted complex financial and violent crimes. In his free time, John enjoys fishing in the Florida Keys.
