Biography

John Rafter was a founding member of French and Rafter LLP and, most recently, Rafter and Associates PLLC. He has defended personal injury and property damage cases of varies types for close to 40 years. He has litigated to verdict or favorable settlement, hundreds of cases in both federal and state courts. He has defended owners, contractors, and subcontractors in multiple, high exposure Labor Law cases. He has conducted hundreds of depositions in any number of areas, including general negligence, premises liability, and professional liability.

Mr. Rafter has lectured on behalf of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of the New York State Bar Association Trial Lawyers Section and Torts Insurance and Compensation Law Section. Mr. Rafter has also served as a Village Justice in his community for over twenty years.
