John Thomas Lillis, Jr.

Jack is a seasoned civil and business lawyer who has been in practice since 1975, known for steady strategy and a focus on practical outcomes. Over the years, he has handled thousands of cases with values totaling in the hundreds of millions of dollars, taking many matters to trial and settling hundreds more at the last minute when it served the client’s interests. His work covers maritime and admiralty law, inland marine and transportation matters, cargo and liquid cargo claims, and insurance and reinsurance disputes, along with commercial cases involving the sale of goods under the UCC, INCOTERMS, and CISG. He also advises businesses on contracts and disputes involving shipyards, partnerships, and real estate, including international matters. Jack is experienced in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and settlement negotiations, and he has served as an arbitrator. He has been AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1982 and has held a Super Lawyers designation in transportation since 2009.
