Biography

Trial and appellate lawyer Jonathan G. Chance represents all types of clients, from Fortune 500 Companies to individuals.

Before forming JC Law Offices, Jonathan worked for two of the prestigious Am Law 200 law firms in Silicon Valley, where he specialized in commercial and intellectual property litigation. In those practices, he counseled and litigated on behalf of semiconductor, software, hardware, and biotech clients and companies in state and federal courts across the country. Jonathan has advocated on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of disputes, including commercial litigation, trade secrets, copyright, trademark, and patent infringement claims. He has represented clients in arbitrations in the United States and in Japan.

Jonathan graduated Order of the Coif and Magna Cum Laude from the Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana, where he also served on the editorial staff of the Indiana Law Journal. After graduating from law school, he served as a clerk for the late Stanley J. Miller on the Indiana Court of Appeals and as a clerk to the Honorable Daniel Manion for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, California, and Tennessee, all federal courts in Indiana, and in other federal courts across the country. Before attending law school, Jonathan was a professional classical double bassist and bass guitarist. When not practicing law, he enjoys spending his time with his family and serving the needs of one very demanding Scottish Terrier.
