Biography

Jonathan J. Owens is an Associate at DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, LLP and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits practice groups. Jonathan graduated from New York Law School in February 2024 where he was a member of the Center for Business and Financial Law. He also was a member of the school’s Securities Arbitration Clinic where he helped represent defrauded investors in securities litigation proceedings against different brokerage firms before the Financial Industrial Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He is currently admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York.

Previously, Jonathan practiced as an insurance defense attorney. He has experience in representing large insurance carriers in New York City Civil Court in no-fault proceedings. Additionally, he represented insurance carriers in no-fault arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association. Lastly, he has experience negotiating favorable settlements on behalf of insurance carriers in various disputes with medical providers.

Jonathan also clerked with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, where he conducted court appearances on behalf of the State of New Jersey in DWI conviction appeals.
