Biography

With a distinguished career that spans over two decades, Jonathan Kranz has established himself as a trusted authority in the field of insurance and reinsurance coverage, consistently delivering favorable outcomes for his clients through litigation and alternative dispute resolution. His ability to effectively and efficiently navigate complex insurance disputes and his unwavering commitment to achieving positive results for his clients have earned him a stellar reputation in the insurance community. He has successfully handled matters across the United States, in both federal and state courts, as well as internationally.

As head of London Fischer’s newly established Miami office, Jonathan is a key member of the law firm’s management team. His extensive knowledge and experience make him a sought-after advisor for insurers facing challenging coverage issues such as those involving:

•Additional insured and contractual indemnification coverage (primary and excess/umbrella) for bodily injury and property damage in the construction context. including owners, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, design professionals, and vendors.
•Privacy liability coverage for violations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), New York Biometric Identifier Information Law (BIIL), California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), Federal Trade Commission’s Privacy of Consumer Financial Information Rule/Standards for Safeguarding Consumer Information Rule and other privacy-related laws.
•Pollution/environmental coverage for first-party and third-party liability including oil spills, gas releases, fracking, polychlorinated biphenyls, asbestos, and lead paint.
•Professional liability coverage for acts, errors, and omissions of insureds including architects, engineers, construction managers, consultants, attorneys, accountants, and entertainment/news companies.
•Cyber claims involving network security, data breach, network extortion, digital assets, and business interruption loss.
•Directors & officers liability involving broker/dealers, investment companies and private funds as well as “greenwashing”, “AI-washing” and cyber security claims.
•Employer Practices Liability involving municipalities, transportation authorities and real estate companies.
•Public risk liability involving municipalities, correctional facilities, and police departments.
•Toxic tort claims involving pharmaceutical and medical devices.
•General liability coverage (primary and excess/umbrella) for insureds such as fire departments and fire district for bodily injury, property damage, and environmental damage involving per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS).

•Professional liability coverage for violations of consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices statutes

Beyond his professional pursuits, Jonathan enjoys playing guitar and tennis and traveling to new destinations.
