Jonathan Fodi focuses his practice on federal and state criminal defense, internal corporate investigations, compliance consulting and regulatory review, and complex civil litigation.
Jonathan draws upon his unique background and experience to counsel companies and individuals through the most sensitive, high-stakes matters. He serves a wide range of sophisticated clientele that includes medical professionals and practices, energy companies, construction companies and real estate developers, national corporations and executives, non-profits, private clubs and associations, and governmental agencies and public employees. He practices before state, federal, and administrative courts, and provides counsel at all stages of governmental investigations, civil demands, compliance proceedings, and prosecutions. When given the opportunity to intervene early, Jonathan takes pride in his ability to resolve most matters before adverse action is taken against his clients.
In addition to consulting on government inquiries, Jonathan also represents many of his clients in adjacent civil proceedings, tapping the expertise he developed in more than a decade as a prosecutor. Jonathan’s prosecutorial experience taught him to anticipate an opponent’s best arguments and build compelling cases that withstand scrutiny. In corporate disputes and civil litigation, Jonathan’s clients always appreciate the benefit of having a former prosecutor in their corner.
As a state prosecutor and Special Assistant United States Attorney, Jonathan earned a reputation for spearheading some of Western Pennsylvania’s most complex, high-profile cases. Assigned exclusively to handle white-collar and other sensitive matters, Jonathan gained invaluable experience directing law enforcement agents from the very onset of an investigation. During his time in public service, Jonathan oversaw thousands of criminal prosecutions, including multi-million-dollar frauds, prosecutions of public officials, the dismantling of drug trafficking rings, unlawful uses of force by police, and more than a dozen indictments for homicide.
Jonathan has tried to verdict the case of a police officer charged with murder, led a Grand Jury inquiry into the investigatory practices of a metropolitan police department and its labor union, and was part of the team that convicted a sitting Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice for misappropriation of state resources.
