Biography

Jonathan Temps brings more than two and a half decades of experience across private equity, private funds, and M&A. His practice centers on advising sponsors of private equity real estate funds and their investors, guiding them through the full lifecycle of fund formation, operation, and investment.

Jonathan counsels clients on all aspects of capital raising and capital deployment, and his work spans the full range of activities in which real estate funds participate. This includes transformative M&A transactions, GP co-investments and syndications, continuation fund structures, secondaries, co-investments, and joint ventures. He also has wide-ranging experience navigating tax-advantaged real estate investment structures, such as DSTs, UPREITs, and Qualified Opportunity Zones.

A trusted strategic advisor, Jonathan works closely with clients on fund and platform-level structuring, including the optimization of upstream vehicles. His practice is shaped by a holistic perspective gained from prior roles as a traditional private equity attorney, an investment banker, and the head of capital markets and legal at a private equity real estate fund. This combined experience enables him to understand and address client needs from both legal and business angles.
