Biography

Jonte Hunter focuses his practice in two areas of law, Labor & Employment and Workers’ Compensation. He appears frequently before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission on behalf of numerous clients.

While in undergraduate school, Jonte was valedictorian for his Oakwood University class where he majored in history. While attending law school, he completed an externship with both the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Office of Chief Counsel and the Children’s Law Center. Jonte also completed summer internships with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP), and the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists’ Office of General Counsel.

After receiving his JD, Jonte clerked for the Honorable Phyllis D. Thompson of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals for two years. Following his clerkship, Jonte completed a litigation fellowship at Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP, in its Nashville, Tennessee office.
