Jordan D. Hecht: Attorney with Hecht, Kleeger & Damashek, P.C.

Biography

As a founding partner and Senior Trial Attorney at Hecht Kleeger & Damashek, Jordan D. Hecht is committed to helping clients get justice they deserve.
“My goal is to make sure that accident victims who would not otherwise have access to the court have their voices heard,” he says.
Hecht focuses his practice on catastrophic injury cases, including accidents that involve careless drivers and public transportation operators, negligent property owners and landlords, and manufacturers of defective products. He also represents workers in labor law and construction accidents as well as those who have been harmed by violations of their civil rights.
“My partners and I have a very rigorous screening process for new clients as we approach every new case with the expectation that it will go to trial,” Hecht says. “We are not afraid to spend what is necessary to hire the most qualified experts from across the country and create visual illustrations to be used as exhibits at trial.”
Hecht first gained courtroom experience as a student at Cardozo School of Law, working in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. After obtaining his law degree in 1994, he began his career as working at a large plaintiff’s personal injury firm where he tried many cases to verdict. “In my first two years of practice, I had 10 years worth of trial experience, which has left my miles ahead of my contemporaries in court room skills”, Hecht states.
His courtroom philosophy, like all the attorneys at Hecht, Kleeger & Damashek, is “to be the most prepared attorney in the court room at every trial. This lets us present the case that we want and not the case the defendant wants to present,” Hecht says.
Hecht’s commitment to providing a voice to people in need is not limited to his own practice. He is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association’s Executive Committee, chair of the Grieving Families/Wrongful Death Committee and a member of the Labor Law Committee.
