From a young age, the aspiration to be a trial attorney captured
Jorge R. Quintana-Lajara's imagination. However, it was a personal
experience—a serious car accident during his teenage years, and the
subsequent legal battle—that solidified his life's mission. His
commitment to seeking justice for those injured by the actions of
others became unwavering. Today, as an attorney, the most rewarding
aspect for Jorge is the fulfillment derived from witnessing a
client's happiness and gratitude when justice is served, and their
case is favorably resolved.
Clients under
Jorge's representation attest to his qualities as a hardworking and
dedicated attorney. His approach is marked by treating individuals
with the respect and decency that every human being deserves. Beyond
the legal realm, he forges lasting friendships with clients,
fostering an environment where they feel comfortable reaching out
about legal issues affecting them or their loved ones.
Jorge R.
Quintana-Lajara, a bilingual attorney proficient in English and
Spanish, has dedicated his practice to personal injury and insurance
matters in State and Federal courts since graduating from law school
in 2000. His legal journey began as a Clerk at the U.S. District
Court (District of Puerto Rico) under Magistrate Judge Justo Arenas.
Subsequently, he served as Assistant General Counsel at the Puerto
Rico Economic Development Bank.
His career
evolved to representing local and national insurance companies in
State and Federal Court, handling diverse litigation such as
automobile and premises liability, medical malpractice, products
liability, environmental damages, and civil rights violations. Later,
he transitioned to a Plaintiffs' practice, securing seven-figure
judgments and settlements, earning him recognition as a Lifetime
Member of the Multi Million Advocates Forum. Jorge is also actively
engaged in class action litigation concerning electronic data
breaches and consumer rights.
For almost a
decade, Jorge represented the Puerto Rico Insurance Commissioner’s
Office in various litigation matters and served as a Court-Appointed
receiver/liquidator for six insurance companies. He extended his
counsel to receivership/liquidation proceedings in Florida, U.S.A.,
and the Republic of Panama.
In addition to
his legal contributions, Jorge has advised and represented the Puerto
Rico Insurance Brokerage Office, counseled the Puerto Rico House of
Representatives on the review of the Puerto Rico Civil Code and other
proposed laws, and authored scholarly articles and precedent-setting
judgments.
Beyond his
professional endeavors, Jorge is dedicated to charitable
contributions and organizations focused on helping children. During
his leisure time, he enjoys the outdoors with his wife Livi and their
two daughters.
