Biography

Attorney Jose J. Ortiz Acosta was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2009. After graduating, Jose became an AmeriCorps VISTA member helping his community in diverse projects focused on helping kids and teenagers with schoolwork and free of charge summer camps for under privileged kids. Jose also graduated in 2014 with an Asociates Degree in Criminal Justice from Universidad Ana G. Méndez in Puerto Rico. In 2014 Jose attended law school at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico. While in law school Jose participated actively in moot court and won second place in a criminal moot court competition in 2016. After graduating with honors Jose worked on Family Law, Criminal, and Property cases as a solo practitioner. Jose is an active member of the Puerto Rico State Bar and a Public Notary.
