Biography

Joseph E. Legere is a trial lawyer with over 60 jury trials under his belt. His success as a trial lawyer earned him a selection by his peers as a Texas Rising Star by Thomson Reuters in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015. Additionally, he was listed as a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters in 2020 and 2021, a process performed by Texas Super Lawyer magazine in naming the State’s up-coming attorneys.

His trial experience includes litigation involving mental capacity issues, involving the use of expert witness testimony and cross-examination of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other medical and mental health professionals. His knowledge and experience with medical and psychological testimony is particularly useful in handling mental capacity issues which arise in contested guardianships and will contests.

He also has substantial trial experience involving catastrophic tort claims, including wrongful death claims and survival claims.

Mr. Legere has given numerous presentations to legal organizations involving litigation tactics and other subjects. He has served as an adjunct professor at a local college teaching courses relating to substantive areas of litigation.

Mr. Legere is active in community service, volunteering with the Assist the Officer Foundation, American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the Irving Healthcare Foundation, MADD, and Susan G. Komen-Dallas.
