Joseph L. Shannon

Joseph “Joey” Shannon is a member of the firm’s Public Law and Litigation groups where he serves as an assistant prosector, which involves everything from attending court proceedings and conducting discovery for civil and criminal cases to drafting legislation for a variety of Ohio political subdivisions. Joey also handles legal research, analysis and writing, reviews police video evidence, and assists the Litigation team in preparing for trial. A second-generation municipal attorney and grandson of a police officer, Joey’s passion for public law and government drives him to ensure local governments stay compliant with the law.

With a hands-on approach to his clients’ matters, Joey strives to eliminate surprises and leaves no stone unturned when identifying sound solutions to his clients’ issues. Known to be very transparent and openly communicative, Joey is a go-to person for solid advice and bringing a calm presence in difficult situations.

When he is not practicing law, Joey enjoys spending quality time with his friends and family. Joey is also a true sports enthusiast and roots for the Buckeyes and Fightin’ Irish every football season. Time permitting, he can be found tinkering with his 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible he won in a charity raffle when he was 14 years old.
