Throughout his entire career, Joseph Nascimento has dedicated himself
to criminal defense, passionately advocating for individuals and
corporations entangled in complex federal and state criminal matters.
His extensive experience includes representing clients facing
investigations by prominent agencies such as the FBI, DEA, Health and
Human Services (HHS)/Office of Inspector General, IRS, Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security (DHS), and the U.S.
Postal Inspector. In recent years, Mr. Nascimento's practice has been
sharply focused on defending medical providers, laboratory
executives, marketing companies, durable medical equipment suppliers,
and business owners caught up in federal healthcare and Medicare
fraud investigations across various jurisdictions.
Mr.
Nascimento has skillfully handled a wide array of cases, encompassing
charges related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Money
Laundering, Bribery, Drug Trafficking, RICO, Healthcare Fraud, Wire
Fraud, Asset Forfeitures, and the representation of victimized
corporations and individuals in their pursuit of restitution. His

carrying the potential for life-altering punishments, including the
death penalty. Notably, Mr. Nascimento has benefited from the wisdom
of leading global experts in areas such as DNA comparison and the
associated issues of transfer and contamination, facial recognition,
and concerns surrounding eyewitness memory and facial comparison.
Additionally, he has achieved success in handling state and federal
appeals that have spared his clients from extended prison
sentences.
Joe's roots trace back to South Florida, where
he spent his formative years. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from
the University of Florida. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr.
Nascimento pursued a legal education at the University of Miami
School of Law, where he distinguished himself as a Dean's Merit
scholar. He graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor. For several
years, he has served as an adjunct professor, imparting his expertise
by teaching courses on Criminal Litigation Skills I and Advanced
Criminal Litigation Skills II at the University of Miami School of
Law, a prominent component of the school's nationally acclaimed
litigation skills program.
Upon embarking on his legal
career, Joe joined Robbins Tunkey Ross Amsel Raben & Waxman,
P.A., a well-established and esteemed criminal defense firm
recognized as one of the largest in the country. After a fruitful
tenure with RTR, Mr. Nascimento became one of the founding members of
the reorganized firm, Ross Amsel Raben Nascimento, PLLC.
