Experience

For more than 28 years, Joshua Werner has practiced as a solo practitioner in his own firm, the Law Office of Joshua D. Werner, where he has provided high-quality legal counsel to countless clients over the years. Before founding his own firm, he gained valuable trial experience as an Assistant District Attorney at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, as well as in private practice with Leppo and Traini. His current practice is devoted to protecting the rights of the accused in a wide range of criminal matters, including state and federal charges. He also represents individual and commercial clients in civil trial matters and real estate transactions.

Education and Activities

Mr. Werner earned his J.D. cum laude, at Suffolk University Law School in 1982 where he was a finalist in the Tom C. Clarke Oral Advocacy Competition, a member of the Suffolk University Law School Law Review as well as Moot Court Board. He completed his undergraduate education at Lafayette College in 1979. He is an active member of the legal community, including the Bristol County Bar Advocates, the Plymouth County Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He is passionate about education, and has regularly offered his time as a member of several local school boards of directors, including the Gann Academy and the South Area Solomon Schechter Day School. He donates his time as well to mentoring new attorneys in areas of criminal defense as well as coaching a mock trial team in the statewide mock trial competition.
