Joshua Friedman: Attorney with PHILLIPS & ASSOCIATES | SEXUAL HARASSMENT, DISCRIMINATION & EMPLOYMENT LAWYERS

Biography

Joshua Friedman is a Partner at Phillips & Associates, PLLC.

I built my legal career from the ground up. Beginning with an unpaid internship in law school (while waiting tables at night at a local Italian restaurant), I leveled up each opportunity, including becoming Partner at Phillips & Associates, PLLC, a top employment law firm in New York City. At P&A, we only represent employees, never management or insurance companies. My vision for practicing law is clear: deliver peace of mind to clients by resolving their employment related issue. This is not a "9-to-5" for me; helping people is fundamental to my identity. I represent clients across a full spectrum of employment matters from navigating sticky HR issues and complex severance negotiations, to litigating wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination and retaliation matters in and around New York City's Federal and State Courts, and at arbitration.

My expertise spans every phase of an employment matter's life cycle from pre-lawsuit strategy through litigation and trial. I have a strong and credible reputation in Court such that I receive deference and respect from peers, judges and arbitrators, and adversaries (one of the biggest compliments a lawyer can receive).

I take seriously that potential clients often contact me during stressful and uncertain moments in their lives, often with their livelihood or career at stake.

Using my expert legal knowledge, deep experience litigating many cases through trial, and practical guidance, I present options that give you control over the outcome of your matter. My approach toward clients is to set clear, achievable expectations designed to meet each client's goals. Through listening and providing comprehensive explanations at every step in the legal process, I bring certainty and closure to complex employment situations. My contact with clients is frequent and consistent; you will not wait long for an update or response. My approach toward employers dovetails tactical aggressiveness with controlled precision. I use my litigation skills to leverage early resolution opportunities for clients to decide how and when to resolve their matter. While a quick and quiet resolution often makes sense, when litigation is necessary to meet a client's goals, I "burn the boats".

I know the entire defense playbook and can guide you through every stage of your employment related situation.

I have achieved over $28m+in for my clients including many seven figure and six figure resolutions. I am a former college lacrosse player, a loving husband and father to a young daughter, and aspire to be a role model and mentor to future generations.
