He began his career as an Assistant Attorney General for Missouri, managing felony criminal appeals and arguing cases before the Courts of Appeals and State Supreme Court. His experience as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney allowed him to handle serious criminal cases, including major drug offenses and homicides.

Before establishing his practice in Memphis, Joshua worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Shelby County District Attorney's Office, where he focused on high-stakes cases such as murder and child sexual offenses.
