Biography

Joshua O. Dorcey has a heritage deeply ingrained in Southwest Florida as his Great Grandfather homesteaded on Bokeelia nearly a hundred years ago. He is the third generation of his family raised in Fort Myers. Joshua earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Communication Studies from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Thereafter, he earned his Juris Doctorate with a focus in Business Planning, Estate Planning and Transactional Services from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Virginia.

While in law school Joshua earned the highest mark in Corporate and Business Taxation, and the second highest mark in Federal Income Taxation, Business Planning, and Federal Estate and Gift Taxation. In his final year of law school Joshua was awarded the highest honor by his professors when they selected him as the top Business Planning and Transactional Services student in the school.

Before attending law school, Joshua moved up through the corporate ranks and excelled in his positions as Director of Marketing for Delco Financial Services and Inches-A-Weigh, Inc, Business Manager for Dorcey and Associates LLC and the Vice President of Sales for Med-Alliance LLC.

After graduating from law school with his Juris Doctorate, Joshua practiced for another local law firm working in Real Estate and Business Litigation before he saw the vision for his own Estate Planning and Business Planning firm.

Attorney Dorcey focuses his legal practice in the area of Florida Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Florida Probate, Business Planning, and Small Business Litigation and he currently has a client base of over 1000 clients here in Southwest Florida. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section, Wills, Trust and Estate Planning Section and Tax Section. He is also a member of the Florida Bar's Business Law Section, Real Property and Probate Section and the Wills, Trust and Estate Planning Section. Joshua is a active member of the Fort Myers Rotary Club serving as the Paul Harris Fellow Chair and Assistant Treasurer and is a member the Southwest Florida Better Business Bureau.
