Joshua P. Joy is a member of the firm’s commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditor rights, and professional malpractice and insurance defense groups. His experience and case matters cover these multiple practice areas.

Commercial and residential foreclosures can be a long, drawn out process. On numerous occasions Joshua has been able to quickly resolve residential foreclosures through mediation. When litigation becomes necessary, such as in residential foreclosure matters, Joshua has successfully preserved his clients’ rights in bench trials. He has also proven to be effective in defending property rights, whether that involves solving a title issue for an institutional client or ensuring an individual’s land is not wrongfully taken by a neighbor.

Considering potential legal issues in an everchanging world is a necessity. As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, the use of remote technology by courts as well as medical providers and schools increased. Consequently, the increased use of remote technology led to varied privacy concerns. Joshua has been forward-thinking in recommending best practices to his clients to safeguard privacy and avoid future litigation. In all aspects of his work, Joshua is committed to providing clients with the care and quality they deserve.

Joshua earned his B.A. from the University of Connecticut, and his J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law. While attending law school, Joshua was involved with a local Hartford community organization in their efforts to reevaluate Connecticut’s current environmental laws and regulations with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
