He then received his Juris Doctorate from the Florida International University College of Law in 2011. While in law school, Mr. Diaz Avila was selected as a teaching assistant for the legal writing program wherein he drafted several briefs used to grade first and second year students' legal memoranda and oral arguments.

Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mr. Diaz Avila practiced in the areas of foreclosure and bankruptcy.

Mr. Diaz Avila is fluent in Spanish.
