Biography

Julie Foster is a seasoned attorney who recently joined Becker Law, bringing with her a wealth of experience in employment law, general liability, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and long-term care defense. Transitioning from her role as a defense attorney, Julie now serves as a dedicated plaintiff's attorney, offering her clients unparalleled insight and expertise.

With a background in insurance defense litigation, personal injury protection (PIP) benefits, property and casualty claims, and more, Julie is well-prepared to anticipate and address opposing counsel's strategies. She has crafted over 30 trial court and appellate briefs presented to both Kentucky and U.S. Supreme Courts, providing comprehensive and compelling representation to her plaintiff cases. Additionally, Julie has successfully mediated over 50 employment discrimination cases, showcasing her adept negotiation skills for the benefit of her clients.

Julie's litigation prowess is evidenced by her tenure as lead counsel in a high-profile Federal sex, disability discrimination, and retaliation case against Louisville's largest employer. Furthermore, her experience advising an insurance provider specializing in recovery services has equipped her with a deep understanding of employment issues, including ERISA, FMLA, ADA, Medicare, and FEHBA matters.

Education-wise, Julie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Centre College in Kentucky. Her previous roles at national and regional law firms, as well as with the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, provided her with a solid foundation. Notably, Julie actively supported the Department of Corrections in investigations involving Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints and discrimination suits during her time at the Cabinet.

Julie's dedication to justice, coupled with her extensive defense experience, makes her a formidable advocate for her clients at Becker Law. She is a member of both the Kentucky Bar Association and the West Virginia Bar Association.
