Mr. Ritchie’s primary field of practice is civil litigation related to the real estate industry. Approximately 80% of his practice is devoted to the representation of clients in eminent domain (condemnation) cases involving highways, turnpikes, roads, powerlines, pipelines and other public improvement projects.

Mr. Ritchie’s eminent domain (condemnation) experience began in 1990 prior to graduating from law school. His career in the field started while working for a firm that represented the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, cities, and utility companies as a legal intern and continued after being admitted to the bar. In 1993 Mr. Ritchie began devoting his practice primarily to the representation of private landowners against the government and utility companies that were taking private property for their projects. Mr. Ritchie has represented well over 200 individuals and businesses in eminent domain (condemnation) cases.

The remaining portion of Mr. Ritchie’s personal practice is devoted to general business civil litigation, general counsel services to business and cities, and litigation related to property line disputes, construction litigation, contract litigation and general civil litigation.

Mr. Ritchie resides with his wife, Lesa, on the family’s small cattle ranch in rural Mayes County. They enjoy their life on the farm where they can decompress, garden, tend to the livestock and enjoy the visits from their children and grandchildren.
