Attorney Kaelyn Steinkraus focuses her practice on assisting
consumers in creditor harassment cases. Many people believe that when they owe
a debt, they have no rights, but both Federal and Florida State laws provide
consumers with legal protections against overzealous creditors. This may
include protection against harassing collection activities such as unauthorized
robocalls, contacting friends, family or employers about a debt, making
aggressive or threatening remarks, misrepresenting information about a debt,
unlawful credit reporting, and other unlawful activities.
Kaelyn started with The Law Office of Michael A. Ziegler,
P.L. as a law clerk in 2014 after various legal internships throughout her
undergraduate and law school careers. It was at this point that she knew she’d
found her niche: helping everyday people that had been taken advantage of by
big-business creditors. In 2016, Kaelyn accepted a position as an associate
attorney with the Law Office of Michael A. Ziegler, P.L. She was promoted to
Partner in 2019 and continues to work tirelessly to represent consumers’
rights.
Kaelyn is a Florida native, raised in the small beach town
of Vero Beach. She graduated from Vero Beach High School in 2008 and then
attended the University of Florida, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science
degree cum laude in 2012. Go Gators! She then obtained her Juris Doctorate from
Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Kaelyn was writing chair
and advocate on the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot
team that competed in Vienna, Austria. The team advanced in oral arguments to
the top 32 out of over 300 teams from across the world. Kaelyn was also a
Guardian ad Litem in Pinellas County throughout her law school career.
In 2019, Kaelyn was appointed to the Florida Bar Consumer
Protection Law Committee where she works on the Judicial Subcommittee. She is
also a proud member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Kaelyn
is a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division and
Solo and Small Firm Division. Kaelyn is admitted to practice law in the State
of Florida, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and
Southern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the
Eleventh Circuit.
While not practicing law, Kaelyn enjoys traveling, trying
new restaurants around Tampa Bay, and spending time with her Australian
Shepherds at the beach.
